Hello all, and I hope to see some reactions, either bad or good, to this, this is a list of suggestions I would really like to see in Freelancer, I will try to make the list as complete as I can and as clear as possible, and I would like to apologize before hand in case these have been suggested before.

All these suggestions imply that the HC admins work on mods more, so I understand why they might be reluctant, since, in the end, it's them who have to do the work, and not the players that might like the ideas. I can help you with the mods, but unfortunately, only from July forward, as I have exams very very soon at university, and this part of the year is very crowded for me.

Anyway, here goes:

1. Trade ideas
1A. As it is now, trading is rather boring and uneventful, just fly, sell, buy, and back to fly! Every now and than some tax from some pirate, but all in all, transports usually fly without any escorts. Also, it seems that most trading is done during the night and early morning, when there are a lot less players online, which is also quite boring. So, an idea I would like to see implemented in the game, is that prices depend on the number of players online! Make it so that the prices are only updated once every 15 minutes, to avoid situations like being on a base, buying a commodity, flying out to space, and all of a sudden notice that the number of players is half of what it was 2 minutes ago and you have just lost a small fortune. I would leave it at your own discretion to choose the relation between number of players and prices, should you accept this idea.
Why I think 1A would make the game more interesting?[b]
This would entice players to do more trading during the crowded periods of the day, which will also entice escorts for the transports, and also more pirate activity, and bigger taxes asked.
1B. Trading should change the universe more in just prices, detailed at sections [b]3A and

1C. There should be Clan specific trade routes, detailed at section 3B

2. Fighting
As it is now, fighting is pretty much USELESS! When you get resurrected at the last visited base after getting killed, and are allowed to fly out right away and fight again, not much changes. One single player can defend a base against 20, with just a little skill and a few resurrections, which is pointless. Getting away from people that want to keep you from leaving a system is almost impossible and so on, so:
2A. Please change the resurrection system, add exceptions for friendly pvps, and a command for pvping, but for general fighting, please change this.
2B. It would be interesting if the Clan life were more obvious than it is now, and more than just "this is my clan, I have fun here, they teach me, we practice together, and we trade together". Make Clan life RICHER please. Make fighting for a cause possible, details in section 3C

3. Clan life
As it is now, clans mean little, at least a lot less than they could mean. Also, for many people, me included, a fly and shoot game such as FL is insatisfactory, many people prefer strategy games or RPG games. So with a little modding, we could make the game a lot more attractive for all these players.
3A. Allow clans to build more than one base. This does the following:
Intensifies the fight for Sirius
Creates new possibilites for trading (please make it so there can be trading between bases. Furthermore, please make it so that there MUST be trading between bases, detailed in section 3B.
3B. Create clan specific trade routes. Yes, clans need foodrations, hfuel, engine components and oxygen for their base so that they don't lose it. NOT ENOUGH! Please make it so that a base that is located in a waterless system needs more water, that a base located in a system where Engine Components are easily made doesn't need engine components and so on. Please allow bases to CREATE commodities, to be able to sell them, only needing the RAW MATERIALS for those. Also, please make it so that bases of a Clan have different needs depending on where they are located, and that clan members MUST transport different things to their bases.
3C. More than one clan base (oops, should have been before 3B, sorry)
Most of this has been detailed in the previous section, thanks to my highly disorderly nature , but a few more details:
Every now and then, create new systems, and make "Fight for the system" missions. For instance, create a system rich in Gold somewhere, and announce it on the forum, announce where access to that system would be from, and what base(s) the contenders must start from if they want to claim that system for their clan. Systems can only be claimed by clan characters, and the first, let's say 3 characters that arrive at a HC control base in that system, get the system for their clan. All 3 first-arrivers of different clans I mean, let's say the first 5 ppl are Klan 1, Klan 1, Klan 1, Klan 2, Klan 3, then the system goes to Klan 1, 2 and 3, and they all choose where to build their bases. Also, clans should be allowed to change their universe(s) using trade routes. More on this in section 4.

4. Changing Sirius
4A. Please make it so that specific trade routes of clans allow changing the systems. Let's say Klan 1 has a base in New Berlin, that fabricates gate/lane parts, and another base in Omega 41. Then, if they apply for this and meet certain conditions, create a new Clan Mission type for them: Getting tradelane parts to Omega 41, to their other base. Let's say, if they deliver 1.000.000 lane parts to Omega 41, then they are allowed to have tradelanes where they wish them.
4B. New commodities should be created, just like the VIPS, but the new commodities I have in mind would be:
i)miner
ii)scientist
iii)engineer
iv)weapon engineer
Why? To enrich the 4A section: Let's say Klan 1 has a base in Dublin, in one of the asteroid fields. Then a new mission type for that clan can be created: "Bring 250.000 miners to Base x in Dublin, to be able to mine and sell Gold from that base".
Or "Bring 10.000 weapon engineers, 100.000 Light Arms, 100.000 engine components" to Base Y to be allowed to create 20 weapon platforms at a location chosen by you in that system."

Hopefully, you might like of these, and we can have a more interesting and more active server Very Happy. As far as my FL modding knowledge goes, most of these are possible, I have no idea how to create custom missions though, but you seem to have made that possible.

sounds interesting - but:

most things in ur "wish-list" will bring in a obligation-mod (new modded Tradelanes...) and thats not desired on this server because it will people deter to go on this server. Other parts of ur list were already suggested and discarded.

Don't we already have an obligation mod? I mean, the HC mod? Everytime a clan gets a base, doesn't that mod need to be updated and downloaded by all who want to enjoy HC to the fullest? If you mean something else by obligation-mod, then please excuse me and I would also be grateful if you explained what you meant.

it is interesting but... about trading you already have dinamic economy..

and about bases... it would be interesting could build more bases (depending of resources of the clan) but could conquer those bases would be interesting too. (i think wodk4 is already makign something with coquer baes proyect.... but i dont know more).
