some ppl including me have video lags after connect to server.
I dont know how to explain it exactly in english but after connect
i have 10 FPS or less, some time pass and lag disappear.

I have reinstalled FL, removed all save data files, and this is still.
When i connect without mod to other server FL works well, when mod
activated "video lags" and i must wait when its gone.

Has anyone any ideas whats goin on?

Edit: I dont activate high details

I'm experiencing the same problem ! Never used to have problem with FPS, every time I launch FL I have to restart the game.

Well... since we're here:

My lags disappear after I close WinAmp (I usually play with my music on the background if there's no friend of mine online in TS) So maybe you also have other things running on the background? I have to agree... background processes hasn't affected performance as much as it does now, after a new mod, but, these issues go away after a few minutes.

Second big problem, I get a computer freeze before I can see the HC server in the servers list, and this is new with the mod.

Third issue:

Why are we automatically assuming that these problems are caused by the new mod?! Oh yeah, forgot, human nature of blaming the easiest and most obvious aspect. Anyway, what we're accusing with our problems fits under the description of "error of logic".

Winamp has nothing to do with it neither other processes. I'm experiencing this problem since last mod update.

This is normal behavior of Freelancer application, get used to it. I don't know what causes this lag, but everybody has it Razz

We're not blaming anybody here man, we are just reporting the anomalies which are embedded within the mod.

This is exactly what I was talking about.

Just because after an event occurred, let's call it event A, and after it, events B and C occurred as well, doesn't automatically mean that A is the cause of B and C, unless you assume all other factors as constant.

For instance, I've reinstalled BG's "cewl windows" all other again, newer version than the last one, at around the same time that the mod appeared, and I've also updated my graphics adapter's driver. I am of course just giving myself as an example, but are you really certain that all people who have problems since the new mod, have changed nothing else that could affect FL performance?

note: I have an exam in 5 hours, in macroeconomical statistics and the first lesson in economics that we've had was about judgement errors, the error presented here being one of them. So you can probably call these posts of mine here as... exam practice?

No offense, but practice elsewhere Wink First I thought I have to reinstall the game, because I have a quite old installation. Once I noticed there is somebody who has the same problem I found it good to report it.

i have noticed the problem aswell a couple of times. usually i have seen it while staying at same place, while attacking a base or watching fights.

only option i enabled is the docking behavior.

in some fights i could also see rising fluct and lag while being in the brawl and slowly decreasing while staying docked after i was killed.

another thing i noticed is that enabling high details increases this kind of behavior a lot.

i also have seen some slideshows with activated high details when i have been close to some spots where many people fight and i used alt + tab to have a look at the forums for a minute. with vanilla fl its just a short lag less than a second when returning to the game, but with hhc mod it takes a little more and with high details the peak was 1 minute of slideshow after about 2-3minutes in the forums.

I also tried connect again with global server work... activated and after 5
succesfull connections, 6th was with video lag in the beginning, it looks to be
randomly now :/ When i was deactivating mod error appeared (i didnt
screen that cuz windows crashed, but it was sthg with dll file)

So now after next fl reinstall, deactivated global server workaround
it looks to work good. If these lags appear again ill report it.

for several persons, those low frames are kinda normal with the HHC mod, no matter what mod options you've got enabled. Also with quite good computers it comes to extreme low frame rates, even if there are only like 2-3 other players in your field of sight.
I only have problems like that if I play online with HC mod, don't know when it begun but reneg@de said it begun with the mod that included the auto update feature in his opinion ....

oh and sorry if my english sux ... I only slept like 8 hours within the last 2 days and if I go to bed right now I will also only be able to sleep ~6 hours x_X

oh man i dunno what 2 say..really i dunno if HC mod is this reason, like herrgott sayed...i m playing Freelancer with a 800Mhz processor and 312MB SDRAM and i have no problems of these kind...mabye it's a incompatibility with another process..try press ctrl alt delete when u get that low fps and see wich process is using the processor...i noticed that freelancer(on sme pc's mabye) use to hang a few miliseconds when u have low transfer speeds, or he have 2 many packets 2 recieve...

I actually had this kind of FPS drop long before (rarely), but after last mod update it became daily routine.

Now I switched off the global server feature and everything looks fine.

Things enabled: engine trail, mobile respawn feature.
